To set the record straight for Brandie and whoever else:
1. The freebies, advertisements and such does not belong to you, me or any other blogger. The freebies belong to the companies. Because there are "hundreds" of leading readers to the freebies does not mean you personally own it. The company owns the freebies, it is just a matter of who gets there first.
2. In visiting your blog, you copy and paste straight from the companies website so do the expressed copyright rules apply to you?
3. I have seen content that I had sent to me from one of my 10 friends that do what I do(search out freebies) on other peoples blogs after I posted information to mine. Does this mean that they stole stuff from me? The answer would be "NO." If we all are visiting the same sites then naturally we are going to come up with the same information. If I list a walmart freebie, it belongs to walmart not me. Further is it copyright infringement or free publicity? Am I passing it off as my own? NO!
4.Are you freebie posts registered with the US Copyright Office? Mine sure aren't because the posts are advertisements of free products. When I list the product and copy the information from the site and/or person that is giving it away, It's not my own nor am I passing it off as mine. I am just telling the public to go and get it. If I see it on another blog ...so what, I don't own the freebie.
5. Now if you or anyone else are actually posting articles and I am using them, yes, the site will be referenced because that would be stealing intellectual property.
